If you’re posting to a big group, our CSV upload is your new best mate. Just pop your address list into one file, upload it, and we’ll do the rest.
There's no need to type out every name and address. You can spend more time on the message that matters. It’s perfect for getting ahead on your Christmas cards or just sending some joy far and wide
Here's how to use our CSV Address Upload Tool.
1️⃣ Choose your card(s)
Select the card (or cards) you'd like to send to your recipients. Once you have added all your cards (more then one) to your Basket, select 'Add Delivery Details' button.
2️⃣ Split your order
You will then be promoted with an option to choose to send all cards in the basket to 'One Address' or 'Multiple Addresses' If your sending each card to a different recipient select 'Multiple Addresses'.
You will then see the 'Add Delivery Details' page where you can either; Apply an address by choosing 'Select Recipient' against each order in the basket, Or by selecting 'Bulk Add Addresses' to upload a list of contact details to your address book via a CSV upload.
3️⃣ Prep your CSV file
After you have selected 'Bulk Add Addresses' you will be shown a window to Upload a CSV file or to Download the CSV template.
The CSV template is also attached at the bottom of this article.
To use a CSV we need the following information from you;
First Name
Last Name
Address
City / Town
County
Postcode
A header row is required, but your file doesn’t need to be in any particular order. We’ll use the columns to find the information.
Use the image below as an example of how you should format your address data within the template.
Once your CSV has been uploaded we need you;
Select a country - All addresses should be from this country. (If your address's are for multiple countries you will need to split your CSV address list by country and upload each list individually.)
Then match or check that the recipients contact fields with columns in your file. (If you have used our CSV template we will automatically match the columns in the file to the applicable fields of the address book.)
4️⃣ Confirm and Select Addresses
We will then take you though a process to validate each address is correct and has matched to the applicable address book fields. We need you to check and confirm each address book entry.
After each address book entry has been validated we will navigate you back to your shopping basket. This is where you can then apply your recently uploaded addresses to each card in your basket.
FAQ's
How to save Excel into CSV?
Go to File (top right corner) → Save As.
Click Browse.
3. In the Save As dialog box, under 'Save as' type box, choose the text file format for the worksheet; for example click CSV (Comma delimited).
Browse to the location where you want to save the file, then click Save.
How to save Google Sheets into CSV
Open your spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
Click File (top-right corner) → Download → Comma Separated Values (.csv)
It saves to your downloads folder!
What is the CSV upload for?
Use our CSV upload to add a list of recipient name and address data directly to your address book when using the Multi-Buy card feature. Download our CSV template and prep your file. When you're ready, upload your CSV file to your address book.
What information do I need to include in the CSV?
To use a CSV file we need the following information from you: First name, Last name, Address, Postcode, Country. Take a look at our template. A header row is required, but your file doesn't need to be in any particular order.
Do you offer Multi-Buy discounts?
Yes - To take advantage of Multi-Buy discounts you will need to be a member of our 'Moonpig Plus' membership.
Can I preview or edit the uploaded list before sending?
Absolutely. After you have uploaded your CSV file we will ask you to confirm and validate each address that's been uploaded.
Do you provide a CSV template?
You can download the CSV template from the file attached to the bottom of this FAQ page or you can download it from the Basket page after selecting 'Multiple Addresses'.
What happens if there are formatting errors in the CSV?
You need to make your your file is formatted to match the column headers as shown in the example file. Just to make sure after your CSV has been uploaded we will ask you to validate all address book entries uploaded.
Is there a limit to how many rows or recipients I can upload?
There's no limit to the amount of address that can be uploaded to your address book.
